Hall Centenary

On 3rd October 1923 Charlton Horethorne Village Hall opened its doors for the very first time.

To mark this centenary, the current Village Hall Committee organised two events in October 2023:

  • a display of information and memorabilia showing events and activities over the one hundred years of the Hall’s existence together with complementary tea and cakes and the cutting of a celebratory cake by two of the grandchildren of William Hole, one of the Hall’s original instigators

and

  • a concert by the Yeovilton Military Wives Choir in the Hall with two of the Choir’s members being directly associated with Charlton Horethorne.

To enable residents and others to look at the material and photographs associated with these two events, this page has been launched on the village website as a permanent record of this milestone in the village’s history.
