Forest School at Charlton Horethorne Primary School
This is called the LEAF Club (Learn, Enjoy, Achieve, Flourish) and is held on Friday mornings during term time for children aged 3 – 4 years

Mahjong Evenings at The Kings Arms
The Kings Arms host Mahjong on Monday evenings and we love to welcome new people.

Village Hall Coffee Morning – Last Thursday of each Month PLEASE NOTE THAT THE NEXT COFFEE MORNING WILL BE IN THE AUTUMN
We run a monthly coffee morning for all ages (children to be supervised by an adult please) on the last Thursday of each month.
Coffee, tea, squash and biscuits – £1.00 (children free)

The usual entries of flowers, fruit, vegetables, cakes, jams, handiworks, hobbies and artwork are welcome from everyone in Charlton Horethorne and surrounding areas. We especially welcome entries from those under the age of 18.
Show schedules are available at The Village Shop priced at £2.00.
It is only £2.00 for adults to enter as many classes as they wish – and under 18’s are free!
Entry to the show is free, there will be cream teas available and prize giving will be at 4.00 p.m.
10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. Thursday 27th August 2026 – An all-day Drama Workshop for 8 to 18 year olds
Charlton Horethorne Village Hall
This year, CHAPS (Charlton Horethorne Amateur Pantomime Society) is once again offering a one-day workshop to local young people for a nominal fee of £5 per person.
All of the details, as well as a (clickable) link to sign up via web form, are in the attached poster.
The workshop will be run by a professional drama teacher, with support from some of CHAPS’ finest.
This is to hopefully encourage more young folks to discover the pantomime magic and join our ranks, and also serve as fine training for our now stalwart youth contingent, who continue to improve with each passing year (unlike the rest of us, who remain as shambolic as ever!)
Please do share this with those who may be interested. It is a natural pipeline into the AUDITIONS on 13th September – see below.

2.00 – 5.00 p.m. Sunday 13th September 2026 – Read-through of the CHAPS 2027 Pantomime Script followed by Auditions

It is that time again! Our co-directors (Kirstie and Jasmine) are ramping up their schemes as auditions start to close in.
It is time to get excited about a new round of CHAPS fun!
The audition will consist of a group read-through of the Script, (our show this year is “Rapunzel”) transitioning into individual scene reads, with different people trying different parts. It is light touch as usual and you do not need to prepare anything in advance.
This is always a fun session and we hope to see many of you there! All are welcome, whether you want a part or not! Feel free to bring snacks and drinks to share in our mid-session break.
Monday 28th September 2026 – Rehearsals for CHAPS 2027 Pantomime Production Commence

Rehearsals will be held on each subsequent Monday, at a time to be confirmed, until performances between the 21st and 23rd January 2027.
