Art and Craft Workshop
Everything from painting to knitting and embroidery to quilting in a friendly atmosphere.
Wednesdays between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.

C.H.A.P.S. (Charlton Horethorne Amateur Pantomime Society)
Annual production in January.   Wide range of skills involved including acting, music, scenery, costumes, lighting etc.

Charlton Horethorne & District Gardening Club
The Club meets monthly from February to November.   Events include evening talks from entertaining and informative speakers, visits to interesting gardens and much more.   The Club organises, on behalf of the village, the Summer Show of flowers and produce, arts and crafts.   For photograph of 2014 Summer Show, click here

Annual springtime production with young people of all ages involved in all aspects from conception to final staging.

Fine Folk
English folk dance group for all-comers.   Meets Tuesday mornings.   Good exercise, good company !

Pilates Class
Supported by South Somerset District Council this class, aimed at both beginners and improvers, runs weekly on Wednesday afternoons from 2.00 – 3.00 p.m. and costs £5.00 per week.   Taught by Ali Wells, an experienced and well qualified Pilates and Yoga Instructor, all are welcome to join this friendly mixed group.

Social Play Only

This sociable group meets for friendly play rather than matches on Monday afternoons between 2.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.

Competitive Group
Charlton Horethorne Bowls Club (Short-mat bowls)
This friendly Club meets on Wednesday evenings between 7.30 p.m. and 9.00 p.m. and welcomes players of all ability (or none !) and any age.   In addition to the regular evenings in Charlton Horethorne, the Club also plays matches with other clubs at their locations.   Fee:  £2.00 per head per evening (home or away).

Annual  Village Bonfire and Fireworks Display
Takes place on 5th November on the Millennium Green in aid of various charities.   Helpers with fund raising prior to November and at the event always welcome.

Learners encouraged gently !   Physical strength and musical skills unnecessary.

Charlton Croquet Club
A friendly sporting Club situated just off Cowpath Lane which welcomes all to play social and/or competitive croquet between April and September.   Social events also organised outside the playing season.   No experience necessary – all equipment provided.

C.H.I.F.S.
Knitting for charity – minimal skills required !   Currently supporting Samara’s Aid – a no frills charity based in Brighton doing wonderful work with Syrian refugees.
Monthly meetings held at various houses in the village are an opportunity to socialise, spur one another on and get new ideas !
